Native Seed Planting Workshop at Osamequin Farm

SLCT, Rehoboth Land Trust, and Osamequin Farm collaborated to lead this hands-on winter native seed planting event on January 27th.

Shortly after Liz Downing, Stewardship Chair at SLCT, and Carol Entin, President of Rehoboth Land Trust, attended a native seed workshop last year, they knew they wanted to lead a similar program locally. Osamequin Farm provided the perfect space to host this winter event. Together they led a presentation on native plants and their importance in our environment, followed by hands-on seed planting. Participants were offered six seed species to sow in gallon jugs and produce containers, repurposed into seed planters. Participants took their planters home for spring planting locally in their yards and hopefully to distribute to others.

An enjoyable informative day was had by all! Many thanks to our partners at Osamequin Farm and Rehoboth Land Trust for co-hosting this event.
