Founded in 1967, the Seekonk Land Conservation Trust (SLCT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the distinctive landscapes and natural resources in the Town of Seekonk. We support land conservation in Seekonk by connecting landowners to potential resources for land conservation and by acquiring undeveloped land through private donations. The SLCT also supports environmental education in the elementary schools and the high school.
Just five miles away from Providence, Rhode Island, Seekonk is still covered with pockets of rural, natural habitats. With a population of 13,000, the town continues to grow. The SLCT actively supports ways to respond to the demands of development while also preserving the natural beauty of Seekonk.
