SLCT Co-sponsors Runnins River Walk

On July 31, about a dozen nature enthusiasts joined Ryan Gould, a very knowledgeable naturalist from the Oak Knoll Audubon Refuge in Attleboro, to explore the Runnins River Trail behind the Seekonk Town Hall. Ryan led the nature discovery tour and gave an introduction to using the iNaturalist phone app to identify and record casual environmental observations as a "citizen scientist". This app supports learning while also contributing local data for global conservation efforts.
The walk was made possible by a grant from the Land Trust to the Seekonk Public Library for their Environmental Resource Center. Inspired by the “Plant a Seed, Read” Summer Challenge, it was one of several guided tours of our local natural treasures.
