Mary Wilson Community Conservation Award

2012 Recipient: Elizabeth Paquette

Liz served on the Land Trust board from 1994 - 2010. Her many accomplishments include setting up “green books” of all the Land Trust properties; establishing trails in the Martin Wildlife Refuge; bringing animal displays to Sumpin Pumpkin at Aitken School and the Land Trust’s Nature Days; rededicating the Gerie Zeretzky memorial; being co-president of the Land Trust for 2 years (with Bill Clarke); tirelessly overseeing stewardship of the land. Liz loves wildlife and nature and dedicates her work to supporting wildlife in Seekonk.

To acquire land by gift or purchase for the purpose of preserving open space, and to promote environmental awareness in Seekonk by awarding grants and running programs in the Library and schools.
